Banker's acceptance: Short-term debt securities issued by a corporation and guaranteed by its bank.

Commercial paper: Short-term debt securities issued by companies. Their terms range from a few days to a year. Normally this paper is not secured by assets, although it may be backed by bank's line of credit.

Finance company paper: Short-term debt issued by finance companies.
